"2 Think" for sale.
I'd be most interested in having this made available on your site

Jacquie Mcilwraith- Youth Development
Do you do workshops with youth in rural areas with performing
artists. Do you have to be a member first?
If all of the above then is it up to the host to fund it or
have you got a special funding support for workshops etc;

Peta,
You sent an email recently (below) which found its way to me and
I tried to call to get more information about this project but got
your answering machine. Could you let me know more about it, or
direct me to more information about it on your website? I am placed
in the south west of regional Victoria as a RADO (Regional Arts
Development Officer), employed by Regional Arts Victoria, who are
based in Melbourne. My role is to support the Shires I am in partnership
with. Someone has received your email and sent it onto me and I
would like more information if possible.

Subject: more info on venue nominations for funding submissions
Hi Peta
Can I get some info about the funding opportunity mentioned below?
Att: The General Manager
& Youth/Arts Workers.
Further to our earlier emails... Australian Rock Company Ltd (ARC
), www.arc.au.com, is offering expertise and potential funding,
to underwrite live music performances, for youth, in your area.
Please, do take advantage of our offer.
Venue nominations for funding submissions are due. If you nominate
your venue/s we will work through budgets, with you, until everyone
is happy. You have nothing to lose. If you don't put you hand up,
soonish, this opportunity will just pass by...
I think we would benefit from something like this.

Hey there
I represent the Melbourne rock band NITIDUS who are very interested
in doing a number of underage shows. I have included both the band's
website and myspace links for you to have a look and listen. The
band puts on a really live and energetic show, the lyrically content
of all songs has absolutely no offensive language or material and
the guys all relate well to the younger generation having been ambassadors
for 'Embrace the Future', an organisation that promotes the mental
well being of younger people.
I look forward to your reply

Hi
Peta
Here's a photo showing the Soundshell Stage.
On Festival day we've had 15,000 through the site, but I'm thinking
for a stand-alone ticketed event we can probably hold 5,000 comfortably.
Depending on fencing we could potentially drop capacity to a few
hundred.
The site doesn't have any AV gear, we usually hire in, and in the
past we have also fenced off the site. (It is on Council land so
normally people can access the lawns at all times). I think last
time we fenced it off it cost a couple of hundred dollars. If we
can be of any assistance please let me know
Cheers

RE: Light Up The Halls It sounds like a good opportunity, however
I would have to run it by my boss. In winter in Jindabyne we get
a lot of great bands, however young people under 18 don't get to
see them as they play at pubs. We are currently looking at what
we could do to get some of these bands to play an extra night or
an earlier time so young people can see them and we are trying to
source funding. I noticed on the website it said that today was
the last day to nominate a venue. Do I have to give a specific venue
or is it okay to just express our interest?
Thanks

Dear Peta,
MY HAND IS UP!!!
I would like to register Wallaroo Town Hall as a possible “Light
Up the Halls” venue.
It would hold 300-400 and is a terrific old hall in great condition
- even the roof opens up to the stars!
Of course we would have to go for funding to get the event happening
but I want to support the program and get our name on the list.
What other info do you need from me?
Cheers

Dear Ms. Wilcox,
My name is Charles Coleman but please call me Chuckles.
I received a copy of an e-mail you sent John Hardaker from the band
John Citizen. The e-mail was entitled Light up the halls .
Many years ago, if I may, my ex-wife and I stayed at a friend of
hers in the small town of Harden in New South Wales. Sonya, my ex-wife’s
friend, told me the town had asked her to tell me to bring out the
bands I was in. I assured her they’d hate what we did but
Sonya told me that didn’t matter. Harden was going bankrupt
and suffering a brain drain with all the children leaving to live
in Sydney or Melbourne. What they wanted was for the circus to come
to town, in all its punk rock glory, and help them forget the reality
of life for a while. (Pretty much the reason we all get into music.)
I’ve been thinking about this a bit lately.
The Turbo Nun Entertainment Group handle a few artists. I mainly
stick to old and new school punk, guitar based pop music and singer/songwriters.
‘Light up the halls’ sounded intriguing. Although, everyone
I deal with aren’t that financial and all live in Sydney.
They would be best suited to NSW shows, as only one or two of them
have hit the road in the past.
Yours faithfully,
Charles Coleman.
Director, Turbo Nun.
