Australian
Rock Company Ltd (ARC) is a cultural organisation and the oldest
not-for-profit public company in the Australian music industry (inc
2.2.1984). Its primary objective is "to promote professional
live performances for the culturally disadvantaged youth throughout
Australia, especially in isolated, under-catered and financially
uncertain areas". ARC has an honorary board of directors, elected
annually by the members. Membership is open.
The Company
offers individuals; established and entry level players and crew;
students and teachers; local councils, private and community organisations
opportunities to participate in an on-going program of "general
access" events. The Company assists amateur and professional
members of the arts, entertainment and communications industry
to promote cultural activities to benefit young people, across
metropolitan and regional Australia.
ARC event
management services include: -
- Distribution
of promotional material in up to 3000 schools and youth venues
- Ticketing
for general access events in schools and youth venues
- Providing
artist availabilities and recommendations
- Production,
promotion and ancillary services
- Venue availabilities
and booking
2006 Projects
include: -
PERFORMANCE - co-promoting supervised, co-curricula live
and prerecorded performances and workshops with ARC Industry Members,
schools, councils and other interested parties.
PROMOTION
- maintaining an up-to-date data base for promotional and product
distribution. ARCs' network can reach up to 1.5 million secondary
and high school students, unemployed and working teenagers, nationally.
ARCTIX
- establishing a recognised ticketing network to provide direct
exposure for original artists and product, with potential for
student discount rates. (Company events do not attract GST.)
ARC.AU.COM
- this site is being set up so that fans and young promoters have
easy access to their favourite bands and can gain exposure to
acts they may not otherwise hear of. All original Australian artists
are invited to link. The next step, throughout 2006, is to link
young promoters (schools and community groups), new and established
venues, so that touring acts, or those with new product, have
direct acess to new and improved markets.
FUN(d)RAISING
- ARCs' "Rock & Roll Fund" is eligible to receive
tax-deductible donations by inclusion on the Federal Government's
Register of Cultural Organisations. ARC is a non-government organisation
(ngo). It receives no government funding. Financial contributions
made to the company, through membership fees, donations or sponsorship
are greatly appreciated and assist in covering Company overheads
in fulfilling its aims.
ARC
welcomes public participation in all facets of its program and
remains pleased to discuss projects and possibilities at any time.
